The entire gymternet goes crazy over the season opener at Florida, especially the NCAA debut of Bridget Sloan who is still amazing, and we all missed when she was out of Olympic Trials with an elbow injury.
Basically this happened:
And the gymternet lost it.
Kytra Hunter's tumbling is gorgeous, especially that second pass. Who doesn't love a fantastic Shushunova?
A few states away, LSU showed up to their meet against North Carolina State.
Rheagan Courville and Llomincia Hall pulled out crazy high early season scores, which will be difficult to top. I see them both pulling 10s hopefully.
This was just beautiful
And I'm so glad to see that this is still a thing that happens
I'm also super excited about Jessica Savona. However, the team still need work on bars, but it doesn't look unreachable.
Michigan showed us who's boss in their sunny Mexican showdown against Oregon State and BYU, taking the entire podium in the all-around and achieving a team score equal to Florida.
We also got to see Briley Casanova's collegiate debut, with a 9.775 on vault. I'd love to see more of her.
And four California schools competed in the NorCal Quad, with Stanford beating out San Jose State, UC Davis, and Sacramento State. And we got to see Canadian Kristina Vaculik's back on the collegiate stage:
However, it wasn't a total shut out. Michelle Ho of UC Davis tied with Stanford's Ashley Morgan for the UB title, and Julia Greer of San Jose State took Floor.
